Salient Facts needing disputation to make Atlantis REAL Nov 19, 2018 7:20:42 GMT -7

Let us take on the wise words of a learned one on matters of ancient Egyptian matters. Why? Because it seems that we have members here that argue for an Atlantis story being somewhat partially true, but only from the standpoint that the story is one that was based on matters of ancient Egypt, and were then gloried and immortalized in writing by Greeks who had "smuggled" the plot out of Egypt, but never gave "proper and real" credit to the Egyptians, in either the opening or closing "screen credits," as is typically done in a motion picture.
Here we have more than we need for assessing and disputing the origin of the story, as our Egyptian expert, kmt_sesh, is also disputing the complete reality of Atlantis of ever existing, besides not having any basis in originating in Egyptian soil. And although the points Kmt_sesh makes are not novel at all, since they have been presented and argued from "Kingdom come" as they say, or rather began to be argued from when Plato's kingdom came, the Republic, still, these points have never been defeated, as far as the academics and 'grounded' men are concerned. These argue that anyone who believes the story of Atlantis as being real and not made up by Plato, live in castles in the air.
Who wants to go first, and dismantle these salient points, and convince ktm_sesh with facts and fiction? Or rather with facts and figures? By "figures" I mean Egyptian hieroglyphics records, and by facts I mean clear-cut written facts on stone...or even on papyrus, as long as they are clear, logical, and to the point. To stay on-topic on this thread, anything goes, as anything is wild. Anything other than Plato made it all up from his mind by divine inspiration, is wild...wild speculation. Therefore, let us speculate on.....on the following "bold" post from the Unexplained Mysteries website. And kmt_sesh is a bold rascal, a real academic, as we are told by our own Atalante, who happens to post there and from time to time engages these type of high learned people. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfxrYy4uVDo

Let's review a few salient facts that must be observed by those who wish to make Atlantis a reality.
The events were supposed to have occurred 9000 years before the time of Solon. But no kingdom, empire, or civilization has ever been found from that far back—anywhere on earth.
Plato perhaps regarded Athens as eternally powerful and wealthy, as it more or less was in his own time. But the fact is, Athens was a very minor backwater polis until the rise of the tyrant Peisistratus.
Athens certainly did not exist in any form 9,000 years before Solon. For centuries it was a minor Mycenaean hill fort before Greece emerged form its own dark age.
The Mediterranean region is indeed troubled by fault zones, but no earthquakes are known to have completely wiped out a powerful kingdom in short order.
The Atlantean tale is supposed to have come from Solon, but it's odd that as much as this man wrote, not a single word of his extant writing mentions Atlantis.
The Egyptians are supposed to have told Solon the tale of Atlantis, specifically a priest of Sais. But the people of ancient Egypt did not record the deeds and events of foreign kingdoms because the people of ancient Egypt did not care a whit about foreign kingdoms.
In all of the rich and vast body of writing from ancient Egypt, including historical accounts and stories, not one thing can mistaken for the Atlantean tale.
These are just some examples, but those who seem to pretend that Atlantis was real universally fail to consider or understand these points.
